Bio :
Dr Thi Gammon is a Research Associate with King’s College London’s Department of Culture, Media and Creative Industries. She has a PhD in Media Studies from the Victoria University of Wellington (New Zealand) and a master’s degree in Global Media from the University of Westminster. Prior to her academic career, Thi worked as a news reporter and book translator.

Thi Gammon’s research primarily lies at the intersection of media studies, gender studies, Asian studies, and psychosocial studies, and has recently expanded to cultural geography. She is interested in exploring gender relations and social conflicts in contemporary Vietnam under the influence of global media and the popularisation of South Korean pop culture (the Korean Wave) and its impacts worldwide. Her research has been featured in the Journal of Psychosocial Studies, Studies in Gender and Sexuality, Asian Studies Review, Sexuality & Culture, and NORMA: International Journal for Masculinity Studies. Thi Gammon is contracted to publish her first academic monograph tentatively titled "Vietnamese Audiences of Korean Television Dramas: A Psychosocial Approach" within the “Studies in the Psychosocial” book series with Palgrave MacMillan.
