Matthew Rich-Tolsma

Matthew Rich-Tolsma is a South African and Dutch organisational consultant, mediator, and teacher. He works with senior leaders and boards in a wide range of global organisations, in addition to strategy consulting this work has often entailed team building and adaptations of reflective practice. Matthew is also involved in leading efforts towards decolonizing curricula in higher education in a number of institutions including the IGA. Matthew has published widely on themes concerning dialogue, transformative learning, intersectionality, leadership, and organisational development. In addition he is actively involved in peacebuilding initiatives in sub-Saharan Africa, Europe, and the Middle East in his capacity as a trainer and member of an assessment team for the international Centre for Nonviolent Communication. Matthew teaches and supervises research at the Tilburg School of Economics and Management in the Netherlands. He holds an MPhil in Management and Complexity studies from Hertfordshire Business School where his research focused on anxiety and uncertainty in consulting relationships, and also holds the IGA Diploma in Groupwork Practice. He is presently training as a group analyst in Manchester. He is a trustee of the Institute of Group Analysis and chairs the Curriculum subgroup of the Power, Position, and Privilege working group and the Decolonising Curriculum steering committee.
