Ghida Bernard

I am currently a PhD candidate in Psychology interested in exploring how young children (ages 6 - 9 years old) construct their 'racial' identity within a specific educational context in South Africa. I am using a psychosocial framework and particularly interested in narrative/discursive methods alongside psychoanalytic understanding (contemporary attachment theory) when considering psychosocial subjectivity. I am currently employed as a remedial therapist in a Primary School setting which also serves as my research study site. Before pursuing my interest in psychology, my academic background was in paediatric Occupational Therapy (undergraduate and MSc).
